Flooding continues to ravage 17 of Cambodia’s 23 provinces, acutely affecting Banteay Meanchey, Battambang, Pailin and Siem Reap.

It should be stressed that until now the floods have killed 104 people and over 1 month. The more people 1.5 million affected and housing 120 thousand homes have been flooded. Natural disasters also destroyed rice, 250 thousand hectares. Meanwhile, 670 schools and 370 temples were flooded, According to the Interim figures of the National Committee for Disaster Management.

Response to the disaster, Caritas Cambodia cooperated with National Committee for Disaster Management has immediate responded to the affected families in some of provinces such as Kampong Cham, Kratie, Rattanakiri, Battambang, Banteay Meanchey, Siem Reap, Kampong Thom, Kandal and Prey Veng:

Notes: Each family received 25 kg of rice, 10 cans of canned fish, 1 blanket, 1 plastic container, 3 pieces of bathing soap, 0.5 kg of washing soap, 1 box of sanitary pad, 1 box of tooth paste and 3 pieces of tooth brush. And we had installed clean water system and toilet for using at the safety areas. Morover, Caritas Cambodia has provided soue blue tent sheets to some of poor affected families.
